A pilot project, which aims to reduce mongooses and feral cat populations on Jost Van Dyke, kicked off with a 3-day hands-on workshop for conservation professionals from eight different Caribbean islands all of which face similar problems with invasive animals. The project is led locally by the Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society in partnership with BVI’s Ministry of Natural Resources, the UK Food and Environmental Research Agency (FERA) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

The Moorings Continues Fleet Expansion
The Moorings has introduced the newest yacht in their bareboat sailing charter fleet – the 3-cabin/2-head Moorings 3900. BVI's Team INTAC returned victorious from St. Maarten on March 7 after an impressive clean sweep in the 2011 Budget Marine Match Race, Gill Commodores Cup, and the 31st St. Maarten International Heineken Regatta. Racing took place March 1-6, 2011, with nearly 190 boats entered into the 31st St. Maarten International Heineken Regatta, including competitors from Europe, USA, Australia, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
