Invasive predator management project on JVD kicks off

A pilot project, which aims to reduce mongooses and feral cat populations on Jost Van Dyke, kicked off with a 3-day hands-on workshop for conservation professionals from eight different Caribbean islands all of which face similar problems with invasive animals. The project is led locally by the Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society in partnership with BVI’s Ministry of Natural Resources, the UK Food and Environmental Research Agency (FERA) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

The Moorings Continues Fleet Expansion

The Moorings has introduced the newest yacht in their bareboat sailing charter fleet – the 3-cabin/2-head Moorings 3900. The new catamaran joins the fleet as part of a recent $65 million investment towards the purchase of more than 140 new yachts for the 2010-2011 charter season, including 7 current models and the recently introduced Moorings 50.5 monohull.

How Misaligned Wheels can cost You Money

If your wheels are out of alignment they will be pointing in different directions as your car travels down the road. So instead of your wheels working together to smoothly efficiently move your car along the road they work against each other. Because of this your  tyres wear out quicker than they should, your car uses more fuel (because your engine works harder as your wheels push against each other), and your car may pull to one side of the road.

Clean Sweep for Team INTAC in St. Maarten

BVI's Team INTAC returned victorious from St. Maarten on March 7 after an impressive clean sweep in the 2011 Budget Marine Match Race, Gill Commodores Cup, and the 31st St. Maarten International Heineken Regatta.  Racing took place March 1-6, 2011, with nearly 190 boats entered into the 31st St. Maarten International Heineken Regatta, including competitors from Europe, USA, Australia, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.

France wins by a point

For the 472 sailors from 25 countries, conditions on Biscayne Bay were ideal as temperatures in the low 70s and sunny weather combined with shifty breeze to challenge them on the final day of racing at Bacardi Miami Sailing Week presented by EFG Bank, where champions were decided in five one-design classes.

McConaghy Boats has appointed Ancasta International Boats Sales as the dealer for UK and Ireland.
