ImageA new line of paint was recently introduced to the BVI, out of Rockledge Florida, from an International manufacturing paint company that has been in the Industry for over fifty years, supplying tropical climates with a full line of quality paints.

The Builder’s Choice Paint Store a new distributor of Richards Paint, opened its doors to the public on Friday May 23, in Baughers Bay, after store owner Ricardo “Omar” Grant, who is known throughout the BVI for his expertise in the paint industry, discovered that Richards Paint was offering products with a better selection and has a wider variety for its customers to choose from.

Grant, who has been in the industry for over 14 years, developed a love for this business after working with ‘colors’ at International Papers and Island Paints, here in the BVI. Now that Grant has decided to venture on his own, he gets all the support from his wife, Judith who is the manager at Builders Choice Paint Store and his business partners Kelvin Thomas and Glenn Harrigan.

“He has a lot of ideas, sometimes you don’t see the picture, but if you go along with him, this is what you get, a full-blown paint store. I did not see this, but normally when my husband touches stuff it turns to gold,” Judith described her husband.

Richards Paint, International Sales Representative Lionel Flores, told the StandPoint that the Territory can expect good pricing and excellent customer service, as Richards’s products are in demand because of its premium quality paints that are  high quality and odorless.

“You paint the office or your home now and within an hour you go back inside, there’s no odor.. We sell our line and educate our customers; we give them the right product for their money,” Flores said.

Builder’s Choice is ideal for all your painting needs, in the preparation and application of paint, with its ideal location next to one of the most “booming” hardware-stores on the island.

The store offers a comprehensive line of paint for your outdoor, indoor, and marine purposes.

Contractors and home owners can take advantage of its clean spacious air conditioned facility that neatly displays an array of quality brand named items accompanied with the full line of every product including a wood finishing centre, which displays top of the line finishing products for your carpentry and household needs and a tinting machine to mix colors of your choice.

“We have the best paint-man in the BVI; my husband is popular for his pleasant personality and his knowledge in painting. It is quite shocking to him.

The support has been overwhelming to see all these people and customers from his former job calling and asking about him,” his wife added.

Grant, a Jamaican, who is often referred to as ‘the pleasant guy’ is now “doing is own thing” and is expected to expand his business by selling building supplies in the near future.

Richards Paint Company also has distributors in Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Honduras.

Richard’s Paint Manufacturing Company, Inc. is engaged primarily in the manufacturing of quality Architectural Coatings, such as 100 % Acrylic and PVA interior and exterior house paints and construction coatings, together with quality Industrial Coatings, such as Urethane and 100% Acrylic Industrial Enamels, Water-Bourne Epoxies, Solvent Epoxies, Aliphatic Urethanes and 100% Solids Epoxies.

Their paint products are manufactured with only the finest quality raw materials available and are formulated for most types of climates and offer state-of-the-art protection against mildew.

The products will meet, equal, or exceed most Federal and State paint specifications pertaining to formulation, quality, and performance, as well as most competitive paint products manufactured in the industry today.
