| Over 300 successful at Primary Five examination |

Primary schools in the Territory are preparing to celebrate the accomplishments of the more than 320 students who passed the Primary Five Examination this year and will be moving on to high school. The Ministry and Department of Education and Culture conveyed their congratulations today to the 328 students who succeeded in the comprehensive examination. The results, which were released on June 20, revealed that of the 390 students, who sat the examination 84% passed with grades one and two, 6% were transferred and 10% failed. Transferred students are those who have earned grade C or above in two subjects and a D in the other subject. These students are required to attend a four to six week skills building programme in July and, after successful completion, can register for high school. Last year 352 students sat the Primary Five Examination of which 323 students were successful.
