Premier and Minister for Finance Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE, handed over a low-income home to a needy local family while on an official visit to Virgin Gorda yesterday.

The Premier presented keys to Ms. Diane Stevens for the home which is located in Valley, Virgin Gorda. While making the presentation, the Premier expressed his gratitude to the different government and private sector agencies that contributed towards the successful completion of the project.

The recipient, who was filled with emotion as she received the keys to her new home, thanked the Premier and the wider Government, saying she and her family were extremely grateful for the home which contains three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and living room. It was constructed by Mr. Dwight Flax of D-and-I Construction.

The Premier was accompanied by the Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Julian Fraser, Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Office Mrs. Rosalie Adams, among other government officials during the official hand-over which took place on Tuesday, 17 June.

Towards the end of last year the Premier handed-over a similar low-income home to Ms. Henrietta Thomas and her family at East End, Tortola. The home that was handed-over this week was the last to be constructed under the Government’s low-income housing programme.
