I was really banking on the miss free throws. It was a real close game to see the paper team come back in the game. Them guys aint no paper team, them for real, said Young Legs coach Brian Bash Brewley. They gave us a tough time with the miss-matches they have, but we will get our act together by the time the playoffs come around, Brewley said. Lyle Duggins and Jason Edwin each had 17 points to lead Young Legs, while Kennedy Bass had 11 points and Trevor Stevens 10. Free throws win games and we missed a few, particularly down the stretch that cost us the game, said Derwin Scatliffe, who took the helm of the team for the first time Guns coach since Sports Minister Andrew Fahie resigned. We played hard and we felt we should have won the game, but we were always up against it because the referees were not giving us the calls. In the other encounter on Saturday, Ghetto Mix rallied late in the game for a 88-84 victory against Top Shottas through a 35-20 fourth quarter run. David Susana and Leando Creque finished with 23 and 18 respectively for the Ghetto Mix, while Leslee Smith sunk 23 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds for Top Shottas. The first game of the evening saw, defending champs Virgin Gorda Jr. Mystics trouncing triumph over Full Force 75-52. Jessie Demming and Coy Dore had 14 and 10 points each. Jerrick Maduro was Full Forces top scorer with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Kishawn Pope added 14 with five steals and five rebounds. Comments (1)
