Rasalula Nagarit claimed the overall top spot for his performances throughout the Olypic Day Run series
Rasalula Nagarit and Timon Robinson continued their dominance on Saturday by winning Olympic Day Runs held simultaneously on Tortola and Virgin Gorda, after finishing in the top spots in the pre-race runs.

Nagarit finished in 17 minutes 08.21 seconds along a course that started on the track at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds and made its way towards the Bobby’s Roundabout,

Main Street
, Lower Estate, Huntums Ghut and the Botanic Station before ending back on the 400-metres track.

Steven Asson, who chased Nagarit in all of the lead-up runs, again placed second in 17 minutes 45.03 seconds, while Alliston Blyden ran third in 19minutes 46.04 seconds.

In the Tortola run, Belinda Boyd topped the females in a time of 24 minutes 18.34 seconds and was followed by Sally Blackmore, (24 minutes 56.31 seconds) and Adele Perrot (25 minutes 06 seconds).

Robinson finished the Virgin Gorda run in 17 minutes 36.23 seconds.

BVI Olympic Committee President Rey O’Neal hailed the event as a success.

“We have been holding these races for the past eight or so years and this year it was a success even though I thought we could have gotten more participants. Some of our senior athletes did not participate because they are preparing for other events,” O’Neal stated.
