Hon. Andrew Fahie Minister of Education & Culture As Minister of Education it is with extreme pride and satisfaction that I congratulate the 218 students that will graduate from the Territory’s secondary schools this year including the first cohort of students of the BVI Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School.

Congratulations also to the 328 primary school students that have successfully passed the Primary Five Examination this year and will be moving on to one of the territory’s secondary schools.

Students you have done your parents, teachers and the Territory of the Virgin Islands proud and this is your time to enjoy your accomplishment.  Your hard work, dedication and commitment have paid off and on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands in particular the Ministry and Department of Education we applaud your efforts as well as applaud the efforts of all the teachers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that our students are successful.

We extend special congratulations to our top students in each of the primary and secondary school.

Students this is not the end of the road for you it is only the beginning of a great future.  For those of you who will be going to secondary school in September, I urge you to stay focused.  You will be entering a new environment which will be full of excitement but also full of new challenges, but perseverance and hard work will get you through successfully.  Always remember that with dedication, hard work, preparation and persistence, you can overcome any resistance.

For those students who are leaving secondary school, it is my hope that as you look toward the future you will continue to excel and to move forth with conviction, purpose and dedication in whatever career path you choose to take.

On behalf of the Premier – Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal and his Government, as well as the entire staff of the Ministry and Department of Education, congratulations to all our students and may the Great God of the Universe continue to bless and guide each of you as you continue you educational journey.
