Young Legs outrun Bad Boys in OT Print E-mail

Young Legs used a 17-6 run in overtime to beat Bad Boys 86-75 last Saturday and extend their win streak in the senior division of the BVI Basketball Federation 2008 summer league.

Trevon Lewis secured a game high 27 points and had 3 assist and 2 blocks to power Young Legs to victory. He was supported by Ray Victory’s 17 points, Lyle Duggins’ 15 points, and Kennedy Bass’ 14 points and 16 rebounds. 

Bad Boys had four players in double figures and are 1-5 in the league despite a couple of close encounters.

Molik Malone had 19 points and 10 boards to lead the Bad Boys charge against Young Legs, while Nathianel Malone supported with 15 points, 5 steal sand 6 assists. Also scoring for Bad Boys were, Eustace Freeman, 10 points and Marlon Meyers 10 points, 9 rebounds.

In the second game of the evening, Off the Chainz bead Long Look Bulldogs 61-58, with Shevon Reefee scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He was supported by Vaugan Bassue’s 10 points and AlGernon Auguiste 9 points. Tad Martin’s 24 points and Kevin Isaac’s 13 points were the only high scorers for Long Look Bulldogs.

Another Level stunned three-time defending Jr Division champs, Jr Mystics, 68-66 after outscoring the champs 30-18 in the first half.

Jermoy Telemaque had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Another Level. Norman Smith 10 points, Darryl Alexander 10 points and Dion Edwin 9 points all chipped in for Another Level. On the other side of the floor, Lee-Evans Jacob had 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the way for the defending champs while Enrico Harrigan chipped in 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Frank Quashie also had 9 points for Jr Mystics.

In Sunday night action, Full Force beat the Saints 85-64, Young Gunners demolished All Ball66-55, while Da Boys secured a 80-59 victory against D-Unit.

In earlier games played on Friday evening, defending senior division champions East beat Latinos 108-101, Finishers scraped pass Run It Red 76-75 and Wolf Pack outrun ESHS Rams 69-63.
