ImageCar makeover shows like MTV’s Pimp My Ride show the extremes that people can go to when making over a vehicle. It’s not necessary to spend thousands of dollars to makeover a car; you can spruce it up with a few simpler changes.

But if you are among the hundreds with little knowledge of how to lift the image of your vehicle, Classic Auto Body at Duff’s Bottom, Tortola is a one-stop shop for any model of vehicle, any make.

Three years ago, Lester “Suess” Smith and Errol “Yardy” Hayden, with a combined experience of over a decade in the auto field set out to pioneer their own auto body shop catering for the needs of a wide-cross section of the society.

“Our prices are low and we get a lot of repeat customers because they are happy with the service. Unlike some workshops, we keep our commitments in terms of service pick up and the quality of the work,” Hayden told On the Road.

While the two have built a service around auto-repairs and body work, Hayden said that the major difference is made with their paint job, which offers factory process painting and colour matching.

“If a vehicle is mashed up we would bring it back from almost nothing with our excellent body work and attention to details when it comes to our paint job,” Hayden noted.

He added that if customers want to undertake a quick shine to their vehicle, Classic Auto Body also offers a buffing service.

Experts have long concluded that keeping the interior and exterior of your vehicle clean can improve your vehicle’s life. Most car owners believe that taking the car for a washing and waxing can do a lot for a dingy looking vehicle, but over time with wear and tear could take its toll on any vehicle.

Drivers are often advised to contact an auto body shop about getting rid of any dings and dents in their car, since a dented up vehicle can decrease the overall value and age of a car.

Now that you have had your car spruced up, here are some tips to beautify your car

-Add seat and steering wheel covers. There are numerous seat and steering wheel covers that come in fun designs that reflect your personality. For a classic look, choose black leather seat and steering wheel covers.

-Look into nicer rims. This is a popular way that many drivers makeover their cars. Vehicle rims come in a wide price range, starting with inexpensive models going all the way up to ridiculously pricey styles.

- Kick up the sound system. Speakers and sound systems can really add style to your car.
