“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.” --2 Timothy 2:12

Have you been going through something for what seems like an eternity? I mean one of those situations that seem as if it has come to stay. You’ve been praying and crying before the Lord and wondering when God is going to deliver you. You’ve been hurt, and not just hurt but wounded. You’ve been wondering, "Lord, why is this happening to me?" To the best of your knowledge you’re trying to live for the Lord.

Be encouraged today. God is a divine deliverer. Your trial is only for a season; it will pass. None of us like to suffer or go through trials. The fact is that God allows us to suffer and be afflicted in order that we will be refined and come through as pure gold. God knows exactly what we need to make us into who He wants us to be. If there’s an area of weakness or an area in our lives that needs to line up with the Word of God, He knows what trials to allow us to go through to purify and strengthen us.

In the midst of trials, don’t get bitter against God. Forgive whoever the enemy might be using to come against you. Apply the Word of God to the situation. Remember the Word says that we’re to bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us. Pray for that person. If you find you can’t pray for the person, that could mean that you’re holding resentment, bitterness, or an unforgiving spirit. Ask God to help you release those things and pray genuinely for the person. Remember that if you don’t forgive, God will not forgive you, and your prayers will not be answered.
