The Water and Sewerage Department in collaboration with the Caribbean Basin Water Management Programme (CBWMP) Inc. will host the 12th Annual General meeting of the regional organisation from October 3-4.

The meeting will be held at the Fort Burt Hotel’s Conference Room under the theme “Executing the Mandate and Achieving Organisational Efficiency,” and representatives from all 13 member countries are expected to be in attendance.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for Friday, October 3, will feature remarks by the Minister for Communications and Works the Honourable Julian Fraser, RA, on Government’s Initiatives in the Water Sector.  Director of the Department of Sustainable Development in Washington, USA, Mr. Cletus Springer will deliver the feature address based on the theme, while Executive Director of CBWMP, Victor Poyotte will deliver brief remarks.

CBWMP provides member utilities with opportunities to be at the cutting edge of the management of water and waste water organisations by establishing linkages with regional and international institutions and to obtain quality training at an affordable cost. The regional grouping also provides an environment that facilitates member utilities’ pursuit of quality operations.

The mission of the CBWMP is to provide for the sustainable growth and development of water utilities and the promotion of water and water-related issues through the delivery of quality training and utilising collective resources and experiences.

Image The Dotted Line - Breaking the cycle

What’s the point of expressing bewilderment at the state of violent crime increase in these islands if we are not prepared to do something about it? Gun crimes seem to have gone out of control. Ninety percent of these types of criminal activity have gone as mysteries. No one knows who done it.
