President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Dr Julian Hunte has been appointed chairman Governance Review Committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC President David Morgan announced details Sunday of the ICCs committee structure for the next 12 months and Hunte has been designated chairmanship of the Governance Committee from later this month. An ICC release stated that the Dr Hunte will take over the position from October 24, replacing the Australian Creagh OConnor. The Governance Review Committee is responsible for considering and reviewing issues relating to the corporate governance of the ICC. Other members of the committee are Indias Shashank Manohar, Major General Sina Ibn Jamali, of Bangladesh, Peter Chingoka, of Zimbabwe, and Singapores Imran Khwaja.
The ICC release said in addition to the Cricket Committee, whose members were appointed previously: there are four other main committees, namely the Audit Committee, Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee, Governance Review Committee and the HR and Remuneration Committee.
The ICC Audit Committee will be an independent body.
