The Seventh-day Adventist Church all around the North Caribbean Conference of celebrated their Annual Health Week during the week of September 20 -27 under the theme, “Prevention is Life”.

Some churches held an entire week of services that focused on health and wellness while others had a modified week.

Church members learnt about chronic diseases and ways to avoid them in order to have a longer, happier and healthier life.

The Carrot Bay Seventh-day Adventist church culminated its week of services with a walk to commemorate Caribbean Wellness Day.  Dressed in the “Health Minister’s Heart Healthy Walk” t-shirts, 63 members, comprising 26 youths and 37 adults, walked from the church in Carrot Bay around 5:45 am to Smuggler’s Cove Beach and back.

The majority of the members arrived at Smuggler’s Cove Beach by 6:30 a.m.  Even members with significant health issues took to the challenge and walked all the way to Smuggler’s Cove.

Back at the church members expressed how refreshing the walk was and some even walked further up to Windy Hill. Members even requested for the church to have a monthly walk.
