Guides to celebrate “Thinking Day”

Please join the BVI Guide Association in celebrating this year's Thinking Day. The theme this year is "Think About Water".   Thinking Day Church Service will be held on Sunday February 17 at St. Williams Roman Catholic Church
at 3:00 p.m. The Thinking Day Tea Party will follow immediately after the Church service.
Fair Day will be on Saturday February 23 at the Guide Hut starting 10:00 a.m. Bonfire at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

 

Celebrate V-DAY with Family Support Network

The Family Support Network (FSN) invites you to celebrate V-DAY: Stopping the Violence Against Women and Girls on Friday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the HLSCC Auditorium. There will be selected readings from A Memory, A Monologue A Rant and A Prayer and local poetry with performances by the CADA Players, Callaloo Poets and other community groups. For more

VG Crisis Intervention meeting on Friday

Members of the Virgin Gorda Crisis Intervention Team are advised that meetings in 2008 will be held on the 3rd Friday of the month.
February 17’s meeting will be on Friday, February 15 at 9:00 a.m.  The venue is the Vanterpool Building , conference Room B.
Please make every effort to attend.

 

 

 

Physician Registration

Physicians are again reminded that an updated BVI registration is required to practice medicine and dentistry in the BVI.  Non-belonger physicians engaging in private practice must have an up-to-date grant of approval from the Minister of Health.  Physicians are being warned that the law obligates compliance with these requirements. For more information on required documentation for registering or any other questions, visit the BVI Medical & Dental Council, now located in the RG Hodge Building on the third floor above the BVI Diabetic Association office or call 468-3701 extension 3132. 

 

 

 

2008 Graduation Meeting

Students of H. Lavity Stoutt Community College who are preparing to be part of the 2008 Graduating Class are invited to an important meeting on Friday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the College’s Paraquita Bay Auditorium.

Relocation of Immigration Clinic

The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) announces the relocation of the Immigration Clinic to Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall effective Tuesday, January 29 2008 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The relocation will provide a more efficient and effective delivery of service to persons seeking work permits.

Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall is located at John’s Hole adjacent to the Althea Scatliffe Primary School .

Local Craft Training

The Social Development Department is registering persons interested in learning a local craft specifically Straw Work. The training days are February 5, 7, 19 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Road Town Senior Citizen’s Building located across from the Red Cross Building.

Interested persons can pick up registration forms at the Social Development Department from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  For more information contact the Social Development Department at 494-3431.

 

 

 

Fruit Trees on sale

The Department of Agriculture is informing the general public that there are a wide variety of fruit trees on sale at the Nursery Division at the Agriculture Department, Paraquita Bay

Due to an overstock, the department is presently selling all avocado and mango trees at half price. 

For a copy of the plant and price list, persons can contact the Department of Agriculture at 468-3701 ext. 6123 or 6124.
