The 2008 Arnold “Foxy” Baronville Softball League will see seven men teams and five women teams competing for the crown this year.

The league will feature the re-emergence of the Blue Wings, who sat out last year and the Latinos who have sat out a few years on the Men’s side.

Meanwhile, the West End Warriors will be defending their 2007 crown.

The league which is set to open on March 9, will feature an opening ceremony and march pass at 4:30 p.m. beginning from the Fire Station in Road Town.

According to a release from the BVI Softball Association, each team must have a minimum of nine players represented at the march pass in uniform.

The release went on to state that teams without nine players will be fined prior to their first game.

Teams that have not yet paid their entry fees are informed that today Friday February 29, is the deadline to submit their fees. Teams who do not pay their fees by today will be charged a fine to be paid before the team’s first game.

Admission to the games will be entirely free.

However, donations will be collected during the games and a flat screen television will be raffled during the games.

Persons are encouraged to come out and support the 2008 league, with live music, food, drink, and games and goodies for the children.
