In a powerful opening address to a nine member jury on Tuesday morning, Former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of the BVI, Terrence Williams outlined exactly how a total of $652,676 was spent by Verna Maduro between the years of 1998 to 2006. The money belonged to the BVI Tourist Board (BVITB) and was spent on “material pleasures” while she was the Financial Comptroller of that entity.
