An internal investigation has been launched at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College following the disappearance of over $100,000 in cash and cheques. Officials at the College are tight-lipped, but the StandPoint understands that the unaccounted monies were discovered missing after a check was made of the college’s account earlier this month.

StandPoint understands that the monies should have been deposited, but this did not occur. An office assistant has been sent on leave pending the outcome of the internal investigations.

The StandPoint understands that the missing monies may have disappeared over the last two months. Up to press time last night, the police were not called in.
