Dime bags found in the Belle Vue area (Photo: Police)With the aid of K-9 dog, Ciro, police were able to recover over 100 grams of marijuana concealed in various ‘dime bags’ during two separate search operations conducted recently. On February 13, a team from Operation Crackdown along with K-9 Ciro was deployed to several hot spots in the Road Town area including Crablot, which is commonly called ‘the Ghetto’. The dog found the dime bags totalling 45.9 grams concealed under a home in the area.

Over the past year, officers of Operation Crackdown have conducted well over 100 operations within the Crablot area, an area prone to drug and violent crime activity. Its largest seizure of cannabis in the Crablot area to date is 101 grams of cannabis.

During another successful stop search operation, police uncovered some 92.3 grams of marijuana in the Belle Vue area. Members of Operation Crackdown and Police K-9 Ciro were once again deployed for the search where some 28 dime bags were uncovered under a manhole cover. Within the same vicinity, another 36 dime bags were found in a trash bin. Several persons were questioned in relation to the seizures, no arrests have yet been made.
