On Sunday, Yankees defeated Giants 17-9 as softball action in the 2010 Junior Softball league continued at the Old Recreation Ground.
Yankees scored 17 runs from 7 hits, 5 errors and left 6 runners on base while Giants scraped 9 runs, 8 hits, 4 errors and had 3 runners left.
Yankees’ Lee Evans Jacob was the winning pitcher while Khadin Fahie was the loser. 
Jevone Demming and Kimani Stevens of Yankees each went 2-2.  Demming scored 4 runs and knocked in 1 while Stevens scored 1 and knocked in 3.
Phillies whipped Mets 13-6 in Saturday’s game, securing 13 runs from 8 hits, 3 errors and left 5 runners on base. Mets only managed 6 runs, from 8 hits, 6 errors and left 4 runners on base. The winning pitcher was Makeda Fahie and the loser was Shaika Jeffers.  Sapphire Flax, Britney Peters and Tonya Vanterpool each had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for Phillies. Peters had a triple and 2 runs batted in. Chelsea Hodge of Mets was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a run batted in.
In the second game on Saturday,  Astros defeated Marlins 23-16 by 23 runs, 8 hits,  2 errors and left 7 runners on base. Marlins had 16 runs, 15 hits, 5 errors and left 1 runner on base. The winning pitcher was Lishaquah Fahie and the loser was K'Vaughn  Choucoutou. Lishaquah Fahie of Astros was 2-4 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 3 runs batted in. Trevor Jones and Pedro Suarez of Marlins each went 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Jones had a triple and 2 runs batted in and Suarez had a home run and 4 runs batted in. Austin Keil of Marlins also had a Home Run.
In the third game, Twins beat Orioles 18-13. Twins had 18 runs, 6 hits, 5 errors and left 4 runners on base while Orioles had 13 runs, 7 hits, 5 errors and left 5 runners on base.  The winning pitcher was Shaquille Stoutt and the loser was Shaheem Benjamin. Andrew Stoutt of Twins was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 3 rund batted in. Shamoi Dagou of Orioles was 4-4 with 2 triples, a home run, 3 runs scored and 5 runs batted in.
The final game on Saturday between Rangers and Jays was Postponed due to rain.
Rays and Angels battled in the first game on Friday, with Rays barely holding on to victory by one run. Rays scored 24 runs, from 4 hits, 9 errors and left 3 runners on base while Angels had 23 runs, 3 hits, 4 errors and left 5 runners on base. The winning pitcher was Ryan Alfred and the loser was Shamoy  Christopher. Tyler Lewis of Rays was 2-4 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in. Angels’ pitchers walked 20 batters and Rays pitchers walked 19.
In another close game, Red Sox barely defeated Athletics in a 17-16 game. Red Sox had 17 runs, 6 hits, 2 errors and left 6 runners on base. Athletics had 16 runs, 7 hits,8 errors and left 5 runners on base. The winning pitcher was Deron Smith and the loser was Jamaal Alexander. Damian Calwood and Deron Smith of Red Sox each went 2-3 with 3 runs scored. Meldrick Richards and Jareem  Todman of Athletics also went 2-3, Richards with 3 runs  scored and 3 runs batted in and Todman with 2 runs scored  and 2 runs batted in.

The junior league continues this Friday at 6 p.m. with Rangers coming up against Mets while at 8:00 p.m., Red Sox will battle against Giants.
On Saturday, Padres and Jays will have a showdown at 9:30 a.m. while Angels and Orioles will face off at 11:30 a.m. At 1:30 p.m. Astros will take on Rays and at 3.30 p.m. Twins will come up against Marlins.
There will be no games on Sunday.
