The car and boat show turned out to be a successful event, but the organizers were hoping for a larger participation from boat owners. Vice Chairman of Capital Productions, Julien Johnson, told The StandPoint that car owners must be commended for their participation.

“A few boats came out both on land and sea, but it could have been better,” Julien said.

However, he added that come next year, the organizers will improve on this aspect of the show.

It was also noted that this is the first time that the event was held at Nanny Cay. The show featured a number of the finest vehicles in the Virgin Islands.

“It also featured the Mecca sound competition. It was a great family event and this is the 11th time the event was held,” Johnson said.

Entertainment at the event was provided by Xtreme Band, Mocko Jumbie dancers, along with a fashion show.  A raffle that was held saw David Foster driving home a new Mitsubishi car, which was provided by Tola Mitsubishi and Scotia Bank.

According to Johnson, as customary every year, Capital productions will soon make an announcement on which charitable organization will receive cash donation.
